Born in Brescia, Lombardy, Viotti started his career at Brescia Calcio. He was the starting goalkeeper of Primavera team in 2007–08 season, ahead Andrea Caroppo.[1] In June 2008 he left for Bellaria – Igea Marina.[2] On 1 July 2009 he returned to Brescia and promoted to first team (despite still eligible to Primavera, which was played by Nicola Leali and Michal Hrivnak). He wrote no.22 that season,[3] (which he owned that shirt since 2006–07 season but did not play[4]) winning the promotion play-off with team to Serie A.
In August 2010 he left for Serie B team Triestina in co-ownership deal.[5] He was the understudy of Roberto Colombo. On 24 June 2011 Triestina bought him outright[6] but in August sold to Serie A team Chievo. On 31 August he returned to Trieste.[7]
Viotti played for Azzurrini (little Sky-Blue) in under-16 to under-21 level.
He finished as the runner-up[8] in a youth tournament held in Montaigu, Vendée, France.[9] He started all 4 matches.
Viotti was a regular in 2007 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship qualification which coached by Luca Gotti (played 2 out of 3 matches, the first match against Andorra was played by Mattia Canzano)[10] and in the elite qualification (played the first match, then became Vincenzo Fiorillo backup).[11]
He also received call-up to U-18 and U-19 team for train camp from Francesco Rocca. However new coach Massimo Piscedda dropped both Fiorillo, Viotti as well as Carlo Pinsoglio,[12][13] (or unable to call-up) which Azzurrini was eliminated from the first qualifying round held in Moldova.
In February 2009 he was promoted to the under-20 team, played the round 3 of the 2008–09 Four Nations Tournament. He benched on the next game as understudy of Pinsoglio against England in March, but dropped form the round 4 of Four Nations Tournament. He was in the preliminary 30-men squad to 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup,[14] eventually he did not entered the final squad coached by Rocca. He also played the first round of 2009–10 Four Nations Tournament, which he was substituted by Alex Teodorani in the second half. Since then he was dropped from national squad.
In January 2011 he was picked by Ciro Ferrara, the coach of under-21 team.[15] Missed 4 friendlies after the first call-up, he returned to the team as the first choice in 2011 Toulon Tournament, except the last match (bronze match) was played by Marco Silvestri. He was dropped again from the qualification.
He is the friend of Brescia native Mario Balotelli, also a footballer and national team-mate.[16]
